His job description is impressive. His positive impact on the community even more so.
As Assistant County Administrator, Michael serves as Deputy County Manager providing administrative leadership in the daily operations of the County. This includes all County departments. Community Development, Public Works, Office of Management and Budget, Facilities Management, Parks and Recreation, Emergency Services, Leisure Services, Utilities, and Human Resources.
He also provides policy advice to the Board of County Commissioners while working closely with the Office of County Attorney and all County constitutional officers, including the Tax Collector, Clerk of Court, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser, and Sheriff.
In addition, he is permanently on call to the Emergency Operations Center during emergency events. This entails working with the Red Cross and the School Board. Also with FEMA and the Florida Division of Emergency Management to coordinate federal and state aid.
Michael, a lifelong advocate of community betterment, has been honored with many awards. Notably Disney's Hometown Hero award...plus the Exemplary Servte Award...both for his work with the Indian River County
